We built this because budgeting felt broken

Started in 2019 by someone who couldn't stick to spreadsheets. Six years later, we're helping Australian households track money in ways that actually work for real life.

How we got here

From a frustrated freelancer to a team that genuinely cares about making financial tracking less painful.

2019

The beginning

Callum Pritchard launched dariventivo from a Melbourne co-working space after his fourth budgeting app failed him. The first version was embarrassingly simple but it worked for his chaotic freelance income.

The pivot year

We discovered something odd. People weren't failing at budgets because of discipline. They were failing because their income patterns didn't fit traditional monthly templates. So we rebuilt everything around irregular cashflow.

Finding our voice

Launched educational programs that treated adults like adults. No patronizing money advice or unrealistic savings challenges. Just honest conversations about tracking what matters and ignoring what doesn't.

Where we are now

Our Melbourne team has grown to twelve people. We're focused on building tools that adapt to messy real life rather than demanding you change your entire financial personality.

How we think about money tracking

Most budgeting advice treats everyone like they have steady paychecks and predictable expenses. That's fiction for a lot of Australians.

Income variability first

We designed everything around the assumption that your income changes. Because contractors, commission workers, and business owners shouldn't have to fight their tracking system every month.

Context over categories

Spending looks different when you're renovating versus when you're in maintenance mode. Our approach tracks patterns over time rather than judging individual purchases.

Teaching actual skills

Our programs starting September 2025 focus on interpretation rather than data entry. What does your spending actually tell you? Where are the genuine opportunities versus where are you just being hard on yourself?

Who's behind this

Built by someone who spent years failing at traditional budgets before realizing the system was the problem.

Callum Pritchard

Founder & Director

Started dariventivo after a decade of freelancing taught him that standard budgeting advice doesn't work when your income varies by 40% month to month. Previously worked in financial analysis for three years before going independent. Learned more about real money management from struggling freelancers than from any corporate finance role.

Now leads a team focused on building tracking systems for people whose financial lives don't fit neat monthly boxes. Based in Melbourne, obsessed with understanding why smart people make seemingly irrational money decisions.

"The best budget is the one you'll actually use. Everything else is just theory."
